Dinner from our farm- Cooked Turnip Greens

Cooked turnip Greens

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 tbsp garlic, diced
  • 2 1/2 cups broth- chicken or veggie
  • 8 ounces country ham, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3/4-1 lb turnip greens, washed and cut
  • hot sauce, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot.
  • Add onions and red pepper, cook and stir until tender.
  • Add garlic, cook and stir until fragrant.
  • Stir in chicken broth and ham.
  • Taste broth and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Add turnip greens and allow them to cook down slightly.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes or longer, to taste. Stir every 15 minutes.
  • Add cider vinegar and hot sauce, if using. Stir until incorporated.

    I cooked my turnip greens and mustard greens together and they were so tender and delicious!!I also ate my radishes with my meal and they were so good! This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Thank you so much!
