Goose egg blowing

Equipment

  • 1 drill with small bit
  • 1 nail or straightened paper clip

Materials

  • 1 goose egg
  • paint, felt and glue, other decorating materials

Instructions

  • Wash and rinse the drill bit and nail or paper clip you'll be using.
  • An adult should do this part: drill a tiny hole on each end. The ends are round, so go slowly and be careful not to slip off.
  • Insert the nail or paper clip in through one hole. Break up the yolk inside carefully- you don't want to break the egg shell, but you want the egg yolk to be mixed in well.
  • Put one end of the egg pointing into a bowl. You can try using a straw, but that didn't work well for us. If you use a straw, put one end on the hole and one end in your mouth and blow into the bowl. If that doesn't work, put your lips on the hole, and blow the egg out of its shell into the bowl. If you washed your drill bit and nail, the egg can be used for an omelet or baking.
  • Pour some soapy water into one end of the egg, and allow it to run out or blow it out into the sink. Rinse the same way.
  • Let the outside of the egg dry, then decorate it how you'd like.
